SUCCESS STORIES
The Abilene, Texas High School Band spent St. Patrick's Day 1998 in Ireland! The highlight was their participation in the "world renowned" St. Patrick's Day Parade. The band members participated in several projects to help earn money to defray the cost of this exciting trip. One of these projects included the selling of engraved bricks for their Wall of Fame.
With sales of 996 engraved bricks, this group earned approximately $40,000 toward their trip. Last May, at their spring concert they dedicated their Wall of Fame. Over 300 people attended this event, which was covered by the two local television stations! Mr. Gary Moore reports that orders continue to come in and plans another installation in the spring of 1999.
Canton High School Band Boosters report that their first edition engraved brick & tile sales profited $50,000.00 toward the band's travel expenses for Ireland's 1999 St. Patrick's Day Parade. Each brick & tile sold, had a small shamrock engraved on the corner to leave the lasting memory of the trip and the teamwork created. It took the hard work of Chairman Tina Haney, the band, and it's boosters to "make it happen!" Creative publicity and a goal assisted them in selling 300 bricks and 320 tiles by their deadline. A follow up campaign is going great with another installation in progress. Oh Yes!… The most important news is the CANTON HIGH SCHOOL BAND won the International Grand Championship!!
